Binge eating treatment can be a frustrating journey to navigate on your own, as little is known about the disorder by most healthcare professionals. Binge eating is still new to the mental health world, as it was just added as an official diagnosis in the DSM-5 in 2013.
Luckily, you’re in the right place. You need someone who knows binge eating symptoms, treatment and recovery and can help you feel relaxed around food again.
Overcoming Binge Eating
Is it actually possible to recover from Binge Eating Disorder? Absolutely 100%, Yes. With the right treatment binge eating recovery is completely possible. You can live a life where you don’t spend your days thinking about food, feeling guilty after eating or living the cycle of chronic dieting.
Binge Eating Urges
Feeling the urge to binge eat can be an overwhelming feeling. It can feel like it comes out of no where. When you’re driving, when you get home from work or late at night. In therapy you can learn what is triggering the urges and how to surf a binge eating urge.
Often dieting and restricting lays the foundation for your body to want to binge eat. Binge eating has nothing to do a with lack of will power or lack of discipline. It’s often your body’s natural response to chronic dieting and restricting.
